Kicking Horse Resort in Golden, British Columbia, Canada

Painted in 2000

If you consider yourself a freeride skier, you’re probably familiar with Kicking Horse. It regularly plays host to some of the gnarliest freeride events on the circuit, and its combination of steep terrain and deep snow is legendary. There just aren’t that many other places where a skier can find over 4,000 continuous feet of vertical skiing in one place, let alone off one lift. But Kicking Horse’s gondola allows you to get huge laps, fast. And, just because Kicking Horse has a reputation for gnarly terrain doesn’t mean that less experienced skiers won’t enjoy their time there. 40% of the runs at Kicking Horse are appropriate for beginner and intermediate skiers.
