Red Mountain Resort in Rossland, British Columbia, Canada

Painted in 2007

For many American skiers in the inland Northwest, Red Mountain is their introduction to British Columbia skiing. And what an introduction it is! Red Mountain is a world-class resort, among world-class resorts. It’s big, it’s beautiful, and it gets a whole lot of snow every year, 300 inches on average, to be exact. And that snow falls on some of the most interesting terrain on either side of the border. A solid 37% of Red’s named runs are classified as expert-only, but that doesn’t mean you need to be a seasoned skier to have fun at Red Mountain. In fact, it’s a great place to visit no matter how long you’ve been sliding around on snow. There are plenty of beginner and intermediate runs, and seven lifts make navigating the mountain easy.
