Artwork backstory

SilverStar Mountain in British Columbia, Canada

Painted in 2013

Lots of resorts claim to offer a true “ski-in, ski-out” experience, but Silver Star actually delivers on that. No long walks, no bus rides or shuttles. Boot up in your hotel room, and you’ll be on a chairlift in minutes. That’s possible because Silver Star’s “base area” or village isn’t located at the bottom of the lifts, instead, it’s mid-mountain, so it’s easy and convenient to start on top of your first run in the morning without even riding a chairlift. And, there’s less traversing and fewer cat tracks required to get to a lift, since Silver Star has 12 different lifts, including a gondola and a six-person chair.

Timeless art for your home

Each piece is printed using the highest-quality materials and printing methods:

  • Paper type: 100% acid-free FSC-certified archival paper
  • Paper thickness: 230gsm
  • Printing: Canon 12 color giclee printing

The legendary James Niehues

If you are a skier or snowboarder, there is a good chance James Niehues has been your mountain guide. Throughout his 30 year career he has worked at the  smallest hills and the most expansive resorts in North America. He has left his mark in South America, Australia, Asia and Europe too. And even if you have never shared a bottomless powder day with him, he has always been close by.
