Bromley Mountain in Peru, Vermont
Painted in 2007
Yes, there is skiing in Peru, Peru, Vermont that is. Located outside of the creatively named town of “Peru”, Bromley Mountain is a great example of an East Coast “home hill.” It’s the sort of ski area that makes skiing more accessible to the folks unable to live in a “mountain town” out west, but still love sliding around on snow. And, with 1,300 feet of vert, and 47 runs, Bromley is nothing to scoff at. In fact, it’s got everything you need to fall in love with skiing - plenty of beginner and intermediate terrain, expert runs to aspire to, and even three terrain parks. And, with eight lifts, it’s easy to head back up again and again for another lap.

The legendary James Niehues
If you are a skier or snowboarder, there is a good chance James Niehues has been your mountain guide. Throughout his 30 year career he has worked at the smallest hills and the most expansive resorts in North America. He has left his mark in South America, Australia, Asia and Europe too. And even if you have never shared a bottomless powder day with him, he has always been close by.
