Snowshoe Mountain Resort in Snowshoe, West Virginia
Painted in 1998
When confronted with the reality of Snowshoe resort, most peoples’ reaction is along the lines of “West Virginia has skiing!?” And yes, yes it does. In fact, at Snowshoe Mountain Resort, West Virginia has pretty good skiing. The lake situated at the base of the mountain helps with snowfall, and Snowshoe averages around 180 inches of snow a year. Combined with a robust snow making system, Snowshoe is guaranteed to have plenty of terrain for any skier. With 37 trails and 7 lifts, Snowshoe has all the amenities you’d expect from a ski resort, just located in West Virginia.
