Artwork backstory

Stevens Pass Ski Resort in Skykomish, Washington

Painted in 1997

If you’ve skied in the Pacific North West, you’ve at least heard of Stevens Pass, and if you’re lucky, you’ve skied a powder day there. Located near the town of Leavenworth, with easy access to Seattle, Stevens Pass offers a ski experience that’s hard to beat. Stevens averages about 460 inches of snow a year, so powder days are plentiful, and the great mix of terrain (19% of Stevens Pass is made up of double black diamond runs) means that there’s something for every skier. So if you’re just getting started, Stevens has plenty of fun beginner runs to help you grow your confidence, and if you’re ready to push yourself to the next level, Stevens has the terrain to make that happen
