Stowe Resort in Stowe, Vermont
Painted in 1990
Some have coined Stowe the “Ski Capital of the East” and while others might contest that title, there’s no denying that Stowe encapsulates much of what makes skiing on the East Coast so wonderful. Stowe ski area is situated on Vermont’s highest peak, Mount Mansfield, and with well over 2,300 vertical feet of skiable terrain, it’s a big mountain that feels even bigger. It doesn’t hurt either that Stowe receives over 300 inches of snow every year, which means powder days are plentiful, and there’s plenty of coverage to open all the terrain available. Stowe has something for every skier and rider, from mellow groomers and great terrain parks to much more challenging terrain. In fact, 29% of Stowe’s terrain is rated as “expert only” which means there’s plenty of potential to push yourself and progress as a skier.

Throughout his 30 year career he has worked at the smallest hills and the most expansive resorts in North America. He has left his mark in South America, Australia, Asia and Europe too. And even if you have never shared a bottomless powder day with him, he has always been close by.
