Artwork backstory

Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, Montana

Painted in 2004

Plenty of ski resorts brag that they’re so big that it feels like visitors are on their own private mountain, but for the Yellowstone Club, that’s no exaggeration, it’s just a fact. To ski the Yellowstone Club you’ll need to own property in its exclusive members-only area or be close with someone who does. That means that there are only around 500 households approved to ski at the Yellowstone Club. But it’s not just exclusive for the sake of being exclusive, it’s also home to some great skiing. With 300 inches of snow per year, over 2,700 acres of ski terrain, and 2,700 feet of vert, the Yellowstone Club, or YC as locals call it, would be a world-class resort, even if anyone who wanted to buy a lift ticket could.
